The 30th annual Minnesota Education Career Fair sponsored by the Minnesota Education Job Fair Association will be held at the MINNEAPOLIS CONVENTION CENTER on Monday, April 18, 2016. School district representatives from various parts of the United States will be in attendance. The representatives at the Fair will provide candidates with information about job opportunities within their districts. Many of the districts will establish interview schedules and conduct actual employment interviews on the day of the Career Fair. Participating school districts will seek to hire in areas of elementary, secondary, special education, school counseling, administration, as well as school social workers.
Thirty-one teacher producing institutions in Minnesota will have candidates participating in this event. Transportation and accommodations to attend the fair are on your own. To be eligible for the Education Career Fair, you must be a student or graduate from a Minnesota college or university and register through your college career office. You must also be available for employment for fall 2016.
CSB/SJU candidates must complete the following requirements to attend the Fair. All materials to register for the Fair must be submitted to Career Services ~ CSB Center by March 29, 2016.
Registration form, check, and resume must be received at the Career Services CSB Office by March 29, 2016, to reserve your spot at the Career Fair. If you are registered and decide not to attend the Career Fair, reimbursement of the fee will be available up to one week prior to the fair (April 11th). After the March 29 registration deadline, Career Services will send updates, details, and hints regarding the fair to the email address provided on your registration form.
All district participation updates will be available through the http://www.mnedfair.org website. Upon deciding to attend the Fair, you are encouraged to use this website to gain contact information to write letters to the districts to obtain application materials and request an interview for the day of the fair, Monday, April 18. Address information and contacts for each district will be available at the above mentioned link.
Candidates looking out of state have the most to gain: although you will see Minnesota school districts represented, some of them will participate only to provide information and not to interview. The out-of-state schools will be much more likely to both inform and interview. Many of the school districts may not know all their needs for the coming year by April 18, but will be available at the Career Fair to provide information and collect resumes for their district. This is a wonderful networking and interviewing opportunity!
