Career Services plans activities for spring semester
As school resumes on Jan. 14, Career Services is looking forward to all the events we will be sponsoring during the second semester for students.
During January and February we will continue our information sessions for students attending the Minnesota Private College Job and Internship Fair being held Feb. 20-21 in Minneapolis. The 2013 Fair appears to be the largest one in five years, as we anticipate over 175 organizations already scheduled to participate. This event is key for students seeking both full-time positions after graduation or summer internships for 2013. Registration is currently underway and will continue until Feb. 7. Job and Internship Fair information is available at www.mnpcfair.org.
The other major career fair is the Minnesota Education Job Fair on April 15 for CSB/SJU students seeking opportunities in teaching. Registration and information for the Education Fair will be coming out in February.
Several Career Exploration programs will be held during the spring semester. These panel programs feature alums returning to campus to share information with students about their careers. Topics to be covered this semester include: What Can I Do with a Biology Major, What Can I Do with an Economics Major, Careers in Nursing, Careers in Writing and Communication, Working in Asia, Job Search Strategies, and Careers in the Social Sciences. Dates and locations can be found on the Career website. If your son or daughter has an interest in any of these areas, encourage them to attend. It is a great networking tool as well as very informative.
