S. Telan Hu Scholarship

The Asian Studies Program invites students to apply for the Mr. & Mrs. J.C. Wang and S. Telan Hu, OSB, Scholarship in honor of S. Telan Hu, OSB, who pioneered CSB/SJU’s Chinese Language Program. Now in retirement, S. Telan taught Chinese language and literature as well as academic skills courses and has made exceptional contributions to the community through a wide range of service activities. She continues to volunteer time and energy to benefit the service and scholarship goals of the Asian Studies Program.

This annual scholarship will be awarded to a CSB/SJU student who has a concentration in Chinese and demonstrates a strong commitment to service. Applicants must be U.S. citizens.

Previous awardees are strongly encouraged to apply. Though all students meeting the above criteria will be considered, students with financial need will be given extra consideration. The scholarship is for the academic year 2018-2019. The deadline is Wednesday, March 14, 2018.
