Non-Degree Graduate Study
A full degree meets the needs of some students interested in graduate theological study. Those seeking personal or professional enrichment, may enroll as non-degree students. Students who begin their studies non-degree may apply the credits earned to a degree program later.
Non-degree students who wish to take courses that are not applied to a certificate program, a sabbatical, or the study abroad program, only need to register for the courses. No other paperwork is required. Follow this link for Course Descriptions and Registration Forms.
The Graduate Certificate Program often suits those seeking a year of renewal or sabbatical or who are transitioning from one form of ministry to another.
Sabbaticals at Saint John's allow students to choose from a wide variety of graduate and undergraduate courses and take advantage of the many opportunities for enrichment and reflection available both at Saint John's and the College of Saint Benedict.
Web-based courses are designed for non-traditional graduate students and usually include both non-degree and degree-seeking students. A limited number of credits from online courses may be applied to a degree program.
Study abroad opportunities, offered to both non-degree and degree-seeking students, enrich a student's program of study. We currently offer an integrated program in the Holy Land in which participants journey through the land of the Bible while studying the sacred texts. Anyone is welcome to apply for the Holy Land Study Tour. The course taken as part of the Holy Land Study Tour, Biblical and Archaeological Sites, may be done for credit or audit.
