CSB/SJU Retired Employees
CSB/SJU retired employees living within a 50 mile radius of the campuses retain many library privileges.
Employees will either have a college issued ID or can apply for a Library card at either the Alcuin or Clemens Circulation Desks.
Borrowing privileges extend to the circulating book and government documents collections of the two libraries. Retired employees may have use of all electronic data bases on-site, reference assistance, and an open invitation to all Library public events, including displays, lectures, readings, and receptions. Off-campus access to electronic data bases is available for those with an active CSB/SJU network username and password. If you have a problem accessing our databases from offsite it may be because your CSB/SJU network password has expired. Please contact IT Services (320-363-2228) to renew it.
The loan period for circulating books and government documents is 28 days with the option to renew. The maximum number of items that may be checked out is 20. Books and government documents may be renewed three times; see Renewals for instructions. Materials are subject to recall after 28 days. Items requested for Reserves can be recalled immediately. Failure to return recalled materials will result in termination of privileges.
Holds may be placed on books which are checked out. You will be notified by email when they are available. They will be held for you at the Circulation Desk. CSB/SJU active community members have first priority.
MEDIA MATERIALS ARE NOT AVAILABLE FOR LOAN TO RETIREES.
INTERLIBRARY LOAN SERVICE IS NOT PROVIDED.
OVERDUE FINE POLICY
Books, scores and government documents can be renewed within nine days of the due date without incurring any fines. On the tenth day an overdue fine of $10.00 per item will be charged. After an item is overdue for 28 days, a processing fee of $10.00 and a replacement cost will be charged. The replacement cost will be refunded if the material is returned within three months of the billing date.
Overdue fines can be paid at the Circulation Desk.
Failure to respond to Overdue Notices could result in the loss of library privileges.
