We offer a Japanese minor (20 credits) through the Department of Langauges and Cultures (previously Modern and Classical Languages ).
For students who have achieved an intermediate level of proficiency (three semesters or more), the Japanese minor can provide a more rigorous study of Japanese language, literature, and culture, positioned in a larger Asian picture.
This includes the following classes:
JAPN 211 Intermediate Japanese I (4 credits)
JAPN 212 Intermediate Japanese II (4)
JAPN 311 or 312 Advanced Japanese I or II (4)
MCLT 316 or 319 Japanese Literature Course (4)
One Japanese studies course from the Asian Studies Program or the Gender Studies Department(4) The list of those courses
TOTAL: 20 Credits
