Chemistry 9-12
Requirements for MN licensure in Chemistry 9-12. A BA degree in any subject area is required to apply for this licensure. (This is not a major.) (NOTE: Chemistry courses are undergoing changes to be complete in 2013-2014)
- CHEM 125 Intro/Chemistry Structures and Properties (4) (Fall only) (CHEM 123 prior to fall 2010)
- CHEM 234 General Chemistry II (4) (spring only)
- CHEM 235 Organic Chemsitry I (4) (fall only)
- CHEM 236 Organic Chemistry II (4) (spring only)
- CHEM 320 Chemical Literature (1)
- CHEM 335 Analytical Chemistry (4) (fall only)
- 8 additional CHEM credits (from 333, 334, 336, 341, or BCHM 321)
The following courses are required for a CHEM major:
- CHEM 333 or 334
- CHEM 336
- CHEM 341
- BCHM 321
- 1 credit of research
- MATH 119
- MATH 120
- PHYS (191 and 200) OR (105 and 106)
The CHEM major is not required for licensure, provided a major in another subject area is obtained.
