Here is how the CSB/SJU and general community can get involved:
Volunteer!
Collect sap, cook syrup, bottle maple syrup, help with field trips, there are all sorts of ways for you to get involved in the maple syruping operation at Saint John's! No experience necessary! Here's how...
- email arboretum@csbsju.edu and ask to be put on the Arboretum volunteer list
- watch for semi-daily emails with a link to the Daily Update describing what volunteer help is needed
- read the general information for volunteers to know what to expect while volunteering
Learn!
This unique experience offers a number of ways to learn more about the process, history, and culture of maple syruping. There are a number of ways you can learn more! If none of the below events work in your schedule or you have a group of people you would like to schedule a private sugar shack tour, contact arboretum@csbsju.edu.
- Maple Syrup Festivals are your chance to learn about the entire process, from tapping trees and collecting sap to cooking syrup and enjoying it over ice cream!
