How do I apply for a Fellowship?

The I LEAD Fellowship committee is no longer accepting applications for the incoming class of 2013. High school students graduating in 2014 will be able to apply for the fellowship starting August 15, 2013.

To be considered for a fellowship:

Apply for admission to CSB/SJU.

Write an essay answering the following scholarship essay question: How have you challenged yourself to be a leader on issues of diversity?

Complete the application for the Intercultural LEAD fellowship (available by August 15, 2013).

 
The following criteria must be met for your application to be considered for a fellowship:

 

Applicants must be first-generation (CSB/SJU considers students to be first-generation if neither parent has a four-year degree)

Applicants must be high school seniors

 

Once the application for admission, the essay and the fellowship application have been received, candidates will be chosen to participate in on an campus interview in March. Applicants will be notified by February 20 if they have been selected for an interview. Candidates will interview with a faculty member and spend a day on campus with current CSB/SJU Intercultural Leadership, Education and Development Scholars. Scholars are chosen after the on-campus interview.

  • Community/school involvement and leadership
  • Graduate from a diverse, urban high school
  • Financial need
  • First-generation college student
  • Commitment to intercultural issues and actions
  • On-campus interview
  • High school senior
